War

I’ve been too long at war

With my darkness,

My skin grown paper thin and pale.

Too long drenched in fear,

My eyes gone color blind.

Too long medicated by the anonymity of shadows,

My mind thick with daydreams.

I’ve been too long at war

With my darkness,

It’s time now….

To rise with the burning sun.
