Winter Rain

I listen,

Buried under warm, soft cotton,

As ice drenched thunder vibrates soothing through my chest.

I revel,

Protected under this sturdy roof,

As freezing rain seduces me with its savage drumbeat.

I exhale,

Surrounded by winter’s symphony,

As peace finds me safe at last.
